As we return to divisional play, with only Dallas seeming to be in secure playoff position at the moment, much work remains for all the teams in the last four weeks of the regular season if their postseason hopes are to be realized. Click here to see all Week 7 lineups from the Western Division!
Carolina battles St. Louis in a first ever meeting. The Cobras, after starting the season very solidly have fallen off the pace and have little margin for error left if they want to really be in the Playoff picture. The Arch Bishops have definitely been one of the surprises this season, as they currently stand in second place in the West, but still have much work to do with many teams right on their heels.
Next, the resurgent Miami team battles Seattle in an old rivalry. After a few tough losses, the Sharks have won two straight and are suddenly right in the thick of the playoff race but in a very tenuous position, clinging to the fourth and final spot right now. The Sluggers are meanwhile tied for second but also have anything but a secure position. Both teams really need a win this week if they want to make sure they control their own playoff destiny as we near the end of the regular season.
Dallas then battles Arizona in another old rivalry. The division leading Destiny are the only team in the League right now which look primed to make the Playoffs, but likely they will want more than that with the important draw odds coming with a higher seeding. The Scorpions slipped out of playoff position with a tough loss last week and shall be looking to regain their footing, bringing their most top heavy lineup of the season to this week’s fray.
Ending the evening are the two teams which have to be most disappointed with their performance this season as the all-California duel between Los Angeles and San Francisco takes place. After both making the playoffs last year, being tied for last place has to be anything but satisfying. While there is still time for both to rectify the situation, that time is now as a loss by either team this week may well all but eliminate them from postseason contention.
Tune in Monday to see the Western teams battle as we really get to the nitty-gritty portion of the Playoff hunt!
