New Jersey Knockouts

Welcome to the homepage of the New Jersey Knockouts, who play their matches at the Chapel Hill Academy in Lincoln Park, New Jersey.

Aside from a great 2009 season which saw New Jersey dominate the League during the regular season, the Knockouts have generally played the role of an average team - never really at the top or bottom, but always in the middle, fighting for their playoff lives.  Unfortunately, aside from their great season, that fight has always ended up with them just short of the main goal, failing to make the postseason the other three years, in particular in 2010.

While their overall results are likely not up to the team's expectations, the fact that such a strong team can easily not make the playoffs really is just a demonstration of the parity and strength of the League as a whole.  They return in 2011 with mostly the same crew of top veterans but have also added GM Alex Fishbein to the effort.

While their top players have pretty much always performed very solidly, New Jersey has, at times, been shaky on the bottom board - their definite Achilles heel in 2010.  To reverse that, much will depend on their younger stars, in particular, recent Cadet Co-Champion, FM Arthur Shen and their new weapon, Christopher Wu.  If the Knockouts can turn around their bottom board woes from 2010, New Jersey will almost certainly be a playoff bound team in 2011 at the very least.
