As the post-season individual awards have now been doled out, the only thing that remains is the Game of the Year Contest. The contest will work quite similarly as it has with the thirteen Games of the Week along with seven Wildcards (picked by Arun and Greg) comprising the twenty games in the contest. This year, the prizes will be:

1st Place: $500
2nd Place: $300
3rd Place: $200
4th Place: $100
5th Place: $50

With the prizes all going to the winner of the game (all prizes being split equally should any of the above games be a drawn encounter).

This year we will have a panel of six judges (as opposed to five as been the tendency in recent years). The panel this year is:

GM Alejandro Ramirez
GM Alex Yermolinsky
GM-elect Robert Hungaski
IM David Pruess
FM Alisa Melekhina
FM Ron Young

But before the contest gets underway, we must reveal the seven Wildcard games that were selected to join the contest. So keep watching the site as those wildcards get announced every couple of days here before the contest itself gets underway in early January!
